on 2 and 3 December 2010 a delegation from the Commission for International Adoptions has served a mission to Hanoi, for the realization of the joint working group meeting under Article. 24 Bilateral Agreement between the Government of the Italian Republic and the Government of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam in international adoptions.
This is the fourth meeting of the Joint Working Group, which meets every other year in either country with the aim to promote the proper implementation of the Agreement.
On December 2, the Italian delegation, assisted by representatives of the Italian Embassy in Hanoi, he met the competent authority (Department of International Adoptions - DIA) within the Ministry of Justice, and representatives of the Foreign Ministry of Public Security, the Department of Social Affairs and the government of what the social worker.
The Party of Vietnam has announced its intention to proceed by the end of this year to ratify the Hague Convention of 1993, after the substantial legislative changes to the system of Vietnamese adoptions 52/2010/QH12 introduced by the Act of June 28, 2010 .

Both sides have expressed willingness to continue cooperation within the framework of the bilateral agreement signed in 2004 and renovated in 2008, whose validity will be maintained even after the ratification of the Hague Convention.

The Party of Vietnam has finally secured the intention to credit the seven Italian institutions operating in Vietnam, after checking on the professionalism and competence of the operators in the country under the new rules and criteria contained therein. On 3 December the Italian delegation attended a seminar for officials of the Ministries of Justice and Home Affairs and Social Welfare, dedicated to the deepening of social and psychological aspects of adoption.
